Who Can Apply For Host? Volunteers: We are looking for volunteers who would love to be a peer support to a student in their school who is new to Canada. This is a great way to make new friends, learn about other cultures and experiences while earning community hours. Anyone between the ages of 13-22 who is a permanent resident or Canadian citizen can volunteer in our Youth Host program. There is no financial commitment and we ask that you commit for at least two hours a week for six months. If you are interested please fill out a volunteer application form available on our website and a youth host worker will contact you. As a volunteer you will be required to complete a police reference check, you will be reimbursed once you submit your receipt. Newcomers: If you are a newcomer or immigrant youth between the ages of 13-22, the youth host program is a great way for you to meet new friends, learn about your community, school and share your experiences and culture with other youth. If you are interested in joining the youth host program you must be a permanent resident, landed immigrant or convention refuge. There is no financial commitment involved in this program and we ask that you commit for at least two hours a week for six months.
