Become a trained volunteer

WMRCC recognizes the importance of volunteerism in building community and organizational capacity. WMRCC and other non-profit organizations could not exist without the commitment and hard work of our volunteers. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer will receive a special 8 week training which will cover topics like:

  • Issues on violence against women and children

  • Effective Communication

  • Working with Diverse clients: Anti-Oppression Anti-Racist Practice

  • Crisis Intervention

  • Information and Referral

  • Community Resources

What Can A Volunteer do at WMRCC?

  • Become a Board Member

  • Participate in Focus Group/Research Study

  • Administrative Support

  • Help Raise Money by organizing fundraising events

  • Provide information and support to women over the phone
