Become a trained volunteer
WMRCC recognizes the importance of volunteerism in building community and organizational capacity. WMRCC and other non-profit organizations could not exist without the commitment and hard work of our volunteers. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer will receive a special 8 week training which will cover topics like:
- Issues on violence against women and children
- Effective Communication
- Working with Diverse clients: Anti-Oppression Anti-Racist Practice
- Crisis Intervention
- Information and Referral
- Community Resources
What Can A Volunteer do at WMRCC?
- Become a Board Member
- Participate in Focus Group/Research Study
- Administrative Support
- Help Raise Money by organizing fundraising events
- Make a donation
- Provide information and support to women over the phone
