Women’s Multicultural Resource and Counselling Centre of Durham is a nonprofit, registered charitable organization dedicated mainly to the eradication of violence against women, children and youth.
The organization was founded in 1993 to provide services and to increase public awareness of the rising incidence of woman assault in our community. We reach out to women of colour, immigrant and refugee women.

No one is turned away. Women’s Multicultural Resource and Counselling Centre of Durham (WMRCC) provides the following assistance:
- Crisis Intervention
- Telephone Counselling
- Referrals to shelters and other services
- Interpreting Services
- One-to-one supportive counseling for women and children
- Accompaniment to lawyers offices, court, doctor’s offices, children services, legal aid etc.
- Information on social assistance
- Support groups for women and children
- Advocacy and empowerment
- Health promotion and education
- Skills development and training
- Information on parenting and creative discipline
- Public education and awareness campaign
- Youth Counselling/Programs
